Age 86, of Mokena formerly of Koontz Lake IN, St. John IN and Chicago, passed away on Friday, October 6th, 2017.

Gerald is survived by his loving family; children Ellyn (Dan) McGrath, Gerald M. (Janet) Murphy and Michael (Laura) Murphy; daughter in law Corda Murphy; sister Winifred (James) Hendron; grandchildren Ryan (Sadie) McGrath, Erin McGrath, Kevin (Krista) Murphy, Jennifer (Jack) Murphy Blair, Sarah (Dan) Stout, Christopher (Brenna Armon) Murphy, Megan (Greg Tracy) Murphy, Nicholas (Kim Austgen) Murphy, Elizabeth (Bobby) McIlquham, Samantha Murphy, Wesley Murphy, Nicholas Murphy and Madelynn Murphy; 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Gerald was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine (Botich) Murphy; son David Murphy and his parents Francis and Marian (Meyer) Murphy.

A memorial visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451 on Saturday, October 14th, 2017 from 10:00 AM until time of memorial service at 12:00 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Gerald's name to the American Diabetes Association or the donor's favorite charity would be appreciated.
