Gerald (Dale) Kettwig
Born 1936 went to be with his Lord and Savior peacefully on January 1, 2025. Preceeded in death by his loving wife of 32 years Connie, his parents Floyd and Bessie Kettwig, and his older sibling Donald Kettwig. Gerald, known as Jerry, was a lifelong resident of Joliet. He was a veteran of The Korean War. Worked his entire life and retired from Friedrich Binding and Embossing Company. He was a member of several social clubs in the Joliet area and one of the founding members of Club 66. When fast pitch softball was popular in the 60’s, Jerry participated on several local area teams and treasured the chance to play with as many of his friends as he could. Jerry was an avid hunter and loved to fish. Morning walks were one of his favorite routines later in life. A lover of all Chicago sports teams, but most of all, a devoted Chicago Cubs fan. Jerry loved to grill and enjoyed weekly family dinners every Sunday, watching his grandchildren grow up. Survived by his sister Naomi Haggerty. Two sons and their wives, Gary Markley (Karla) and R. Michael Markley (Kristine). One nephew Larry Kettwig, and two nieces Nancy Fox (David) and Tracy Stehlik (Daniel).
