Glen Bishop
4/5/1949-5/1/2021
On Saturday May 1st, Glen A. Bishop loving husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather passed away at age 72.
Glen was born on April 5th, 1949 and grew up in Harvey, IL. He went to Thornton Township High School where he played basketball and baseball. He spent his professional life as a realtor and pipefitter, retiring from the Pipefitters local 597 union.
Glen had a passion for fishing, golf, bowling and a huge passion for BASEBALL. His memory was like no one else, he remembered player names and baseball facts…even remembering specific plays, pitches/pitch counts of many baseball/softball games of his children.
He was so proud of these moments and loved to retell the stories to ANYONE! Glen was such a jokester, his Dad Jokes and fish tales will be missed. His all time go to was if you stubbed your toe “you better call a toe truck!”
Glen was an only child to John and Ethel Bishop. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, his three children Nicole, John, and Matthew and three grandchildren Kaitlyn, Kalei and Andrew, plus granddaughter Harper due in August.
Friends are welcome to share memories of Glen with his family during visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road in New Lenox Thursday May 13th from 3pm- 7pm with the memorial service at 7pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.
Social Distancing and Masks are MANDATORY for ALL in attendance. No food allowed in the funeral home.
