“BUTTER”

Age 72, passed away on Friday, December 31st, 2021 at his home in New Lenox.

Gregg is survived by his loving family, wife, Sandra Butterfield (Robbins), children, Stephanie (Michael) Whitman, Ryan (Carissa Tonner) Butterfield, grandchildren, Cody (Nicole Frye) Douthit, Sarah (fiancée Nate Thornburgh) Lehmann, Dominic Whitman, sister, Kimberly (William) Jensen, numerous nieces and nephews and dear friend, Jim Aire.

Gregg was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd E. & Betty Butterfield Jr. (Swanson) and brother Lloyd E. Butterfield III.

Gregg was very proud to follow in his family’s footsteps and became the 3rd generation to join the IBEW Local #176. He was a loyal and proud lifelong member of the New Lenox Fire Department and retired as a Battalion Chief.
Gregg was a car enthusiast who greatly enjoyed attending car shows and known as a family man who loved to spend time with his family.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451 on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022 from 9:00 AM until time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM. Interment will be private at Maplewood Cemetery, New Lenox IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lightways Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
