Gregory J. Griffin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Greg Griffin, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this world on December 14, 2024. Greg was a man of deep kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.

Greg was the cherished husband of the late Pam Griffin, and the loving father of Joe, Hillary (John), and John (Christy). He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Joseph, Albert, Mary, James, Russel, and Annie, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. He is also survived by his 12 siblings, numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. 

Born and raised in Beverly, Chicago, Greg carried the values of hard work and service with him throughout his life. He raised his own family in Frankfort, where he was elected as a Frankfort Township Trustee and a Frankfort Park District Commissioner. He also served as a coach for Burros football and as a volunteer in many capacities throughout the years. 

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. James P. Griffin and Jane Griffin. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and service that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. In lieu of gifts, the family requests that donations be made to P.A.W.S. of Tinley Park.
