Helen M. Mateja

Helen M. Mateja (Pociask), age 97, a resident of Frankfort formerly of Posen, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. Loving wife of the late Stanley Mateja; beloved mother of Barbara (Gene) Kalinowski, Bette (late James) Lally and Ronald (Joyce) Mateja; dearest sister of Hank (late Grace) Pociask, late John Pociask, late Sr. Mary Ann Pociask, late Ann (Joe) Frankowski , late Stanley ( late Angie) Pociask and late Bernice Pociask; cherished grandmother of Mark (Heidi) Kalinowski, Heide (Scott) Tierney, Michael (Janelle) Portwood, Allison (Patrick) O’Connor, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Mateja and Angela (Jason) Riccio; proud great grandmother of Caden, Kennedy, Kiera, Cullen, Camren, Cali, James, Jack, Judd, Judah and Penelope; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Helen had many friends and her special friend Clem. Helen was a secretary for Whiting Corp. in Harvey and Gordon School in Posen. She was very active at St. Stanislaus Church in Posen, she volunteered and was a member of the Mothers Club and Rosary Ladies. She had a strong love for family and God. We will miss her kind and thoughtful heart. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423 on Monday, February 15, 2021 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, leaving for St. Anthony Catholic Church, Frankfort for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City. ALL ATTENDING VISITATION AND SERVICES ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCE. NO FOOD IS ALLOWED IN THE FUNERAL HOME.
