Helen M. Masura

Helen Marie Masura 85, of Joliet, IL was born on December 7, 1938 to the late Andrew and Mary Bazik, and passed away October 7, 2024.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph Masura Sr, Loving mother of Joseph Masura Jr, Ronald (Toni) Masura, and Laurie (Jeff) Courtright; proud grandma of Taren (Alex) Rowley, Taylor Masura, Gannon Courtright, Brecken Courtright; Proud great grandma of Jack Rowley; dear sister of the late John (late Celeste) Bazik, the late Benedict (late Catherine) Bazik, Mary Ann Bazik, the late Eleanor (late Louis) Helis, Bernard (Barb) Bazik, and Theresa (Mark) Fracaro; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Married to her beloved Joe for 58 years until his passing, Helen devoted her life to family and friends, creating a welcoming, beautiful home that she loved to share with others. With a strong willingness to learn, she was a person of many talents, known for her holiday parties, delicious food, and the smell of dessert in the oven. An avid gardener, there was always room on her porch swing to gather and enjoy the beauty that she created. When complimented on her many gifts, Helen would humbly say “I am a jack of all trades, master of none”.

The family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to Story Point Memory Care and Gentiva Hospice for their loving care and compassion these past years.

A memorial visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel on Thursday October 17, 2024 from 10:00am until time of chapel service at 11:00am. Inurnment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
