Helen S. Kokal (nee Smith)
86, late of New Lenox, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014, at Presence Villa Franciscan, Joliet. Helen was born in Wilmington, IL to the late Elmer F. and Eleanor (nee Welsh) Smith. Survived by her husband, William G. Kokal; her son, Dr. William A. (Bonnie L.) Kokal; three grandchildren, Trevor, Jason and Kristin; a brother, James W. (Sally) Smith; two sisters, Joyce (Gordon) Davis and Jean (the late George) Cinkovich; a sister-in-law Doris Smith; a brother-in-law Jack Chesnut; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother John Smith and her sister Alice Chesnut. Helen was employed by Amerifed Savings Bank retiring in 1992. She was a member of United Methodist Church of New Lenox, and Ladies Auxiliary of Stone City Post #2199. In lieu of flowers, Memorials to United Methodist Church of New Lenox would be appreciated. The family would like to thank Chona, Morgan and Mary at Presence Villa Franciscan for their excellent care. Family will receive friends at the United Methodist Church of New Lenox 339 W. Haven Ave. New Lenox, IL 60451, on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, from 9:00AM until time of Funeral Service at 10:30AM. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
