Horst Arnold Knopp
83, of New Lenox, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at his home. Horst was born in Stettin, Germany to the late Paul and Gertrud (nee Lamp) Knopp. Beloved husband of Irmgard J. (nee Daunicht); loving father of the late Petra (Jerry) Schield, Thorsten (Karleen) Knopp, and Olaf (Lynn) Knopp; cherished grandfather of Tanya Schield, Heidi Wohlhart, Vicki Schield, and Dustin Knopp; proud great-grandfather of Autumn Wohlhart, Diamond Schield, and Evie Knopp; dear brother of the late Helga (the late Robert) Michalk; also survived by his faithful companion, his Corgi, Murphy. Horst was a U.S. Army Veteran, retired Machinist from Idea Tool in Chicago, lifelong White Sox fan, and an Old Style man. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 21, 2018 for a Memorial Visitation from 1 – 4pm.
