Irene Panek

Irene Panek, 94 of Oak Forest, IL was born in Chicago to the late Bartolomej and Anna Soltis and passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025. Irene is survived by her loving children Gary (Kathleen) Panek, and Lynn (Fred) Shimek; beloved grandchildren Kyle Shimek, Kurtis Shimek, Troy Panek, Katelyn Shimek, and Brandon Panek; cherished great grandchildren Lyle Shimek, Ava Shimek, and Mia Shimek. Preceded in death by her loving husband Edwin Panek. Irene will be remembered by all that knew her as a kind and quiet person, always with a smile on her face and a witty remark. The family would like to thank the caring community of The Cottages of New Lenox, where Irene spent the last three years. In lieu of flowers the family asks the memorial donations be made in Irenes name to the below mentioned charities.
