James D. McIlroy

Born May 24, 1939, in Chicago, he passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012, at his home in Frankfort. He was best known for his wonderful sense of humor and zest for life. His true passion was spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Beloved husband of 35 years, to the late H. Priscilla; loving father of Ron (LaDon) Madden, Jill (John) Bogaerts, Jennifer (Dave) Walker, Lisa (Kevin) Disotelle, and Teresa (Greg) Weidhaas; cherished grandfather of 13; dear brother of Darlene (late Richard) Madia; treasured uncle of Michele (Kevin) Madia-Bradley, Denise Chandler, Vicki Mechling, and Mark Shaw; also survived by many dear friends.

Following his years in the Marine Corps., Jim embarked on a successful sales career with Addressograph Multigraph Corp. in Chicago where he attained the Hundred Club award for 10 consecutive years followed by sales management positions with Lineotype, Canon USA and Minolta. Jim was also an avid volunteer for Alcoholics Anonymous and celebrated 38 years of sobriety.

Jim was a great son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be sorely missed.

Family will receive friends Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Saturday, September 1 from 5:00 to 7:30 PM. Funeral service Sunday, September 2 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment private. Memorial donations, to Horizon Hospice, 833 W.
