79, of Naples FL, formerly of New Lenox. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Edwards Hospital, Naperville. Born in Chicago to the late Joseph and LaVerne (nee Bennett) Van Zeyl; Loving father of Julie (Brian) Stapleton, Jeff (Janice) Van Zeyl and Susan Van Zeyl; Loving grandfather of Ashley Van Zeyl and Aden Stapleton; Dear brother of John (Peggy) Van Zeyl and Robert Van Zeyl; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends also survive. Jim was a retired Illinois State Trooper, a retired Naples, FL Police Officer and a Korean War U.S. Marine Veteran. In lieu of flowers memorials to American Diabetes Association would be appreciated. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451, on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 from 5-8M. Everyone will meet at St. Jude Catholic Church, on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 for a Memorial Mass at 10:00AM.
