71, of New Lenox formerly of Chicago Heights and Chicago, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017. He was born in Moline to the late Louis and Alletta (Laughlin) Johnston. Beloved husband of the late Katherine Johnston (Zirzow) and Mary Morris-Johnston; loving father of Michelle (Pierre) Montanez, Noreen (Brian) Castle and James D. Johnston, Jr.; cherished grandfather of Christopher, Ashley and Britney Montanez and Nick, Allison and Brianna Castle; dear brother of Marianne Krismanits; fond uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of American Rabbit Breeders Association, Illinois Rabbit Breeders Association, Master Mason #32nd Shrine, Bowling League for 25 years, Amateur Radio, Masonic Lodge Madison, Lockport, Landmark Doric, Joliet York Right Bodies, Scottish Rite Bodies, Medinah Shrine (Highlanders) and DeMolay in Joliet. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 3 - 8pm.
