James “Jim” Daniel Novak, age 58, passed away on March 5, 2025 at his home in Mokena surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Patricia “Patti” Novak, son, Nathan Novak of Aurora, Co, daughter and fiancé Nicole Novak and Logan Trento of Chicago; mother, Nancy A. Novak, father, (late 2/2025) James (Joan Dolan) Frank Novak. Mother-in-law, Arlene (late Robert) McKenna; sister, Loreen (late James) Von Rhein; sisters and brothers-in-law: Tim Vanek, Cathy (Tom) Dehning, Leslie (Jim Bejna) Doherty, Ed (Jen) McKenna, Patrick McKenna, Amy (John) So, Brian (Julie) Vanek; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Jim was born Sept. 22, 1966, and raised in Alsip. He was a proud Marist Catholic High School graduate of the Class of 1984. While attending Northern Illinois University in DeKalb for his Bachelors in business, Jim met and fell in love with Patti. They married and raised their children, spending the last 25 years in Mokena. Jim owned and operated a healthcare business with his father until 2008. He turned his passion for cars into his career and worked in automotive sales and parts at CarMax in Tinley Park. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and spending time with his family and dogs.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until time of Service at 7:00 p.m. at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center-Head and Neck Cancer Research, 633 3rd Ave. 5th Floor, New York, New York.
