Jeannine Rae Nance, age 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. She was a long time resident of Frankfort, Illinois. Jeannine was born on May 1, 1943 to the late George H. Key and late Aster Irish Key in Peoria, Illinois
Jeannine is survived by her beloved children, Jeffrey (Jen) Nance, Jaimi (Troy) Nance-Jones, and Jeremy (Julie) Nance; grandchildren, Tyler, Madisyn, Ryan Welsh, Tasha Nance, Liam, Keegan, Tiernan Adkins, Alyssa, Alexis, Alex and Aliya Jones; and her brother Jerry (late Janet) Key.
She is preceded in death by the father of her children and dear friend James Nance; her brother Jim (late Carolyn) Key; her sister-in- law Janet Key; her daughter-in-law Pamela Nance; and her family dog Tobey “The Ice Cube Bandit” Nance.
Her role as mother and grandmother were her most cherished attributes, but her career was a close 2nd. She dedicated her life to being a teacher, spending 30 beautiful years nurturing and guiding young minds as “Ms. Jeannine” at Summit Hill District 161 in Frankfort, IL.
Her kindergarten classroom was famously known for its vibrant theme: "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." And indeed, she was the rainbow in the lives of so many children and their families.
Services for Jeannine will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 with a memorial visitation from 9:30am until time of the service at 11:30am
