Jerry W. Loucado, age 87, passed away peacefully at Palos Hospital on Sunday, November 3, 2024.
Jerry was a graduate of CVS High School in Chicago. He was an Army veteran and worked at Illinois Bell Telephone for 40 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Loucado; children, Martin (Katie) Loucado, Rebecca (Rick) Aurilio, Douglas Loucado, and Vincent (Wendy) Loucado; grandchildren, Hannah (Mark) Meininger, Zach (Annie) Loucado, Kole Loucado, Samuel Aurilio, Lexi Loucado, Jake Loucado, and Kayla Larson; great grandchild, Haydn Meininger; and his nieces and nephews, Lynne Boersma, Bill Loucado, Bob Loucado.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ann Loucado; and his siblings, William (Arlene) Loucado and Shirley Huminsky.
He will be remembered as a jack of all trades who could build a tv, re-wire a house, fix a toilet, change out a car engine, renovate a basement, build a garage (a little off center, which always bothered him.) He was a lawn mower, a pool cleaner, a teacher of every sport, an ice rink builder, an accordion player, daily newspaper reader, sudoku enthusiast.
He was an avid Chicago sports fan. Go White Sox, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks! He loved to swim. He loved the piano and listened to music daily. He was quiet, introverted with a dry sense of humor and a great laugh. He loved his family.
He will be greatly missed. May his memory be a blessing.
Services will be held privately.
