Beloved wife of the late George Schmal; Loving mother of Lynn Fisher Holtz (Bob), George L. Schmal, and the late Carol Jo Schmal; Dear grandmother of Jeffrey T. (Anna) Fisher, Angela L. (Joe) Sullivan and Jessica Schmal; Cherished great-grandmother of Riley and Simon Fisher and Tommy and Lauren Sullivan; Dear sister of Gerald (Tammy) Bosco, Barbara (Richard) Vallero, and the late Dorothy (the late Stanley) Krasno. Joann was a retired secretary for Checker Oil. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451 on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 3:00PM - 8:00PM. Funeral Service Thursday, May 1, 2014 with everyone meeting at St. John Catholic Church, Glenwood, IL for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM. Interment private.
