66, of Lockport, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016. John was born in Joliet to the late Harry and Rosemond (nee Johnson) Singletary. Beloved husband of Lori (nee Gorski); loving father of Katie Lynn Singletary and Cheryl Ketelaar; cherished Grampy of Tucker James, Brittany and Jessica; great grandfather of Kaden; dear brother of Janet (Randy) Hubbs and the late Judith Rae; loved brother-in-law of Denise (Dan) Volz, the late Cathy Gorski and the late Laura Ogilvie; special uncle of Sara, Nicole, Lindsey, Ashley, Danny Jo, James, Tyler, Nicklaus, Jacob, Sylvia, Tiffany and Jennifer; dear son-in-law of Leonard Gorski, Neva Lundsrud and Paul Lundsrud. John loved collecting coins and was the true definition of a family man. He loved riding his Harley Davidson, fishing and boating in his favorite place on Lake Nokomis in Tomahawk, Wisconsin where the family had another home for 10 years. He was proudly part of the United Steel Workers Union (USW) Local 7-507 and was retired from Unocal Chemical. Family will receive friends at Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton Street, Lockport, IL 60441 on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 11:00am until time of Memorial Service at 1:00pm. Interment, Lockport City Cemetery, Lockport.
