John Edwards Parker

John Edwards Parker, 87, of Frankfort, formerly of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on Sept., 8, 2023 at Smith Crossing in Orland Park. Preceded in death by his devoted wife, Lynne Parker in 2017. Survived by his loving family, children: Leslie (Eric) Walton New Lenox, IL, Kevin (Leslie Brown) Parker Atlanta, GA; granddaughters: Sarah Grace Walton and Teresa Hoffmann (Daniel) Authier; sister: Nancy (Chris) Christensen; cousins Karen (Stanley) Schneider, Steve (Sara), Eric (Katie), Kelly (Greg); Wayne (Shelly), Wil Schaeffer, Kathy (George) Blair, and many dear friends. John was also preceded in death by his parents Grace and John Parker and his sisters and brother-in-laws: Jean (George) Marsey, Joan (Gilbert) Jones, Ann (Joseph) Babyak. John was a graduate of The Ohio State University engineering program and received his MBA from Purdue University. John and Lynne were the owners of the former business, Micrecord, John worked as a civil engineer for Republic Steel and was a professor at DeVry and Governor State Universities. John retired from the Civil Engineering Corps of the US Navy Reserve. Together, John and Lynne enjoyed extensive traveling in Europe. John was an active member at Peace Lutheran Church and Smith Crossing. Memorial Visitation will be held Fri., Nov. 3rd, from 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way in Frankfort. Sat., Nov 4th, Funeral Service at Peace Lutheran Church, 1900 E.
