John C. Johnson

John Johnson, age 70, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet.  

John is survived by his beloved wife, Mary (nee Garcia) Johnson; children, Carla (Scott) Schultz, and Erling Johnson; grandchildren, Dylan Schultz, Carter Schultz, Brody Schultz, and Gabriel Johnson; siblings, Christopher (Zoraida) Johnson, and Loretta (Thomas) Kelly; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, Erling and Margaret (nee Pestel) Johnson.  

John was a graphic designer for many years and embodied the spirit of an artist fully. He enjoyed making all kinds of art, whether that was woodworking, jewelry making, or playing his guitar. He was a wonderful storyteller and loved sharing these stories with his family. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, cooking, and camping but what brought him the most joy was his family. He loved them deeply and was never happier than when he had a house full of people for a family get together. He will be missed by all that knew him.
