John Martin Hryn, Born May 24, 1944 to Michael B. Hryn (deceased) and Elizabeth Reid (deceased). Devoted husband of Carol Hryn (Conley). Loving Father of John Hryn and Brian Hryn, Dear Father In Law of Deana Hryn (Goudie), Brother of Michael P. Hryn (deceased), Mary Patricia Hryn (Deceased) and Paul (Yvonne) Hryn.
Much loved Brother In Law of Jack and Judy Conley, Jean Harroun (Conley) and Dave Harroun, Gerald J Conley and Diana Conley (deceased), Mary Bauer (Conley) and John Bauer, Kathie Kremsner (Conley) and Rich Kremsner. Proceeded in death by beloved niece Jamie Lynn Hryn and nephew Paul Ryan Hryn. Loving Uncle and Great Uncle of many nieces and nephews. John was an army veteran rising to the rank of E5.
John and Carol traveled extensively all over the world with family and friends. Most recently an epic trip to New Zealand.
John was a successful home builder in the south and southwest suburbs for several decades.
John loved cars and owned several vintage vehicles. He was recently able to purchase his dream car, a 1955 Thunderbird convertible.
He had many interests, he liked to play golf, go fishing, spent winters in Naples Florida and summers at the cottage in Michigan. Most of all he loved sharing with family and friends over a glass of wine or port.
Before his death he was able to visit and say goodbye to many of the people he loved. After a long illness he went peacefully, with his family at his side.
Services for John will begin on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, with a visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd. in New Lenox, from 3-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 12 pm.
