John P. McGraw, Ed.D.
75, of New Lenox, passed away Thursday, December 08, 2016 at his home. John was born in St. Paul, MN to the late Frank P. and Margaret E. (nee Leiendecker) McGraw. Beloved husband of Maureen A. Dunne-McGraw; loving father of Kelly (Mike) Carroll, Patrick (Janice) Farritor, Tim (Tracy) Ferriter; Jack (Liz) Farritor, Bridget (Aaron) Davis, Caitlin McGraw (Brendan Blake), Brendan (Natalie) McGraw and Peter McGraw; cherished grandfather of Danny, Maggie, Fiona, Finbar, Ronan, Nola, Lizzie, Gavin, Matthew, Kaya, Molly, and Nora; dear brother of Patricia (Fred) Spahr and the late Dennis F. McGraw; fond uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. John was an Irish Christian Brother for 25 years. He was Principal at O'Dea High School, Seattle, WA, Brother Rice High School, Chicago, and Tinley Park High School. He was also Adjunct Professor of Educational Administration at the University of St. Francis, Joliet and Lewis University, Romeoville. He was a lifelong Dodgers fan and at one time was a batboy in the Dodgers Organization. In lieu of flowers, memorials in John's name to the Children's Miracle Network would be appreciated. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451 on Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service, Monday, December 12, 2016 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 AM and then to St. Jude Catholic Church, 241 W. Second Ave, New Lenox, IL 60451 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL.
