John James Rourke "Jack" 77, of Oak Lawn was born in Evergreen Park, IL to the late John and Marjorie (nee Eichorst) Rourke and passed away August 15, 2024. Beloved husband of LaVerne (nee Vanaria) Rourke; loving father of Jack (Sharon) Rourke, and Denise (Kevin) Jankist; proud grandpa of Justin Jankist, Kaitlyn Jankist, and Kelley Rourke; dear brother of the late James (Andrea) Rourke, Robert (Shelley) Rourke, Patricia (Kurt) Galhouse, the late Thomas Rourke, Mary (Paul) McCann, Michael (Jane) Rourke, Sheryl Rourke, Joseph (Colleen) Rourke, Russell Rourke, and Rick (Jan) Burns; dear brother-in-law of Anthony (Betsy) Vanaria; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Jack was a proud American Veteran serving in the United States Air Force. An avid fisherman and golfer, who enjoyed spending time with family in Florida. Jack also enjoyed his early years coaching his son Jack's Little League Baseball team. A visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 65 Old Frankfort Way Frankfort, IL on Monday August 19, 2024, from 3-8pm. Chapel prayers at the funeral home will be the following morning at 10:30am, before processing to St Anthony Catholic Church for mass honoring Jack at 11:00am. Interment with full military honors to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery promptly at 1:00pm.
