JOHN SORCI

Age 91, passed away Monday, August 9th, 2021 in Logan UT.

John is survived by his loving family, wife, May Sorci (Cowley), children, Michael (Christine) Sorci, Diane (Rich) McGrath, Marie (Matt) Ziebarth, Teresa Skabelund, Susan (Rick) Huffman, siblings, Sara Zapach, Toni Weistein, grandchildren, Elena (Mike McInerny) Sorci, Gina (Adam) Baumgartner, Cara (Mike) Minnesali, Marie McGrath, Richard (Escarleth) McGrath, Matthew Ziebarth, John (Brittany) Ziebarth, Jake (Stacy) Skabelund, Diana (Justin) Karren, Cort (Erin) Skabelund, Michael Huffman, Katie Huffman and 15 great grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents. Sam & Maddalena Sorci (Mineo), brother, Peter Sorci and son in-law Dave Skabelund.

John was born to immigrant parents from Bagheria, Sicily who passed thru Ellis Island upon entering the United States. He retired as a machinist after 37 years of service from ACME Steel in Riverdale and was known for his sense of humor, kindness and generosity; he greatly enjoyed gardening and was an avid Chicago sports fan.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Wednesday, September 1st, 2021 from 5:00 PM until time of the funeral service at 7:00 PM.
