Joseph C. DiMonte
84, of New Lenox, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016. Joseph was born in Joliet on October 29, 1932 to the late Matthew and Angeline (nee Picciolo) DiMonte. Beloved husband of the late Sandra (nee Studer); loving father of Jean (Dan) Callicoat and Matthew (Star) DiMonte; cherished grandfather of Neil (Marcie) Callicoat, Ryan (fiancée Melissa Hewitt) Callicoat, Matthew DiMonte, the late Marilyn DiMonte, Ashley Wilburn and Jacob Wilburn; great grandfather of Cayla, Bryce and Owen Callicoat; dear brother of Edna (the late Jim) McBride. Joe retired from EJ&E Railroad steel car shop in 1991 after 40 years of service. He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. He was a member of the VFW Cantigny Post #367, Joliet Moose # 300 and Mecca Moose Legion #9 where he made Fellowship in 1978. He was also a member of the Italian Cultural Society, a lifetime member of the South Side Civic Club a lifetime member of Old Timers Baseball Association of Will County and a diehard Cubs fan. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 9:00am until time of Funeral Service at 11:00am. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet.
