JOSEPH P. CANNIFF, JR.
Age 54, of Mokena, passed away June 7th, 2020 at the University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago, after a valiant battle with gastric cancer.
Beloved husband of Sharon Canniff (Pitlik), loving father of Joseph P. Canniff III, Jack Canniff, Katie Canniff; devoted son of Joan Canniff (Narkus) and the late Joseph P. Canniff Sr., fond brother of Daniel Canniff; dear son in-law of Judy Pitlik (Lengyel) and the late Patrick Pitlik, cherished brother in-law of Jim (Julie) Pitlik, Ron Pitlik, Mark Pitlik; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Joseph graduated from Columbia College, and was a Union Carpenter prior to beginning his career in IT sales. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mokena. Joe coached several Mokena Park District Basketball teams through the years. He was a guitarist with the band Boom Hank during their 1995 release of “Nuisance” and owns the copyright for the song, “Carry Me.” Joe was best known for being a charming storyteller who enjoyed making others laugh.
