81, of Joliet, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox. Joseph was born in Chicago to the late Joseph and Sophie (nee Kasmauskas) Kirkilas. Beloved husband of Beverly (nee Fischer) Kirk; loving father of Julie Kirk and Terri Kirk; cherished grandfather of Joseph T. (fiancée Harmony Motz) Kirk, Alexander Kirk and Jodi Swiderski; dear brother of Richard Kirkilas, Dennis (Rosemary) Kirkilas, Donald (Geri) Kirkilas and John (Norma) Kirk. Joseph was a retired Chicago Police Officer after 30 years of service and a U.S. Army Veteran. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451 Friday, January 8, 2016 from 3-9PM. Funeral Service Saturday, January 9, 2016 with chapel prayers at 9:30AM, to St. Jude Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM. Interment Private.
