66, of Gobles, MI, formerly of Chicago and Downers Grove passed away April 1, 2017. Joe was born in Chicago to the late Henry J. and Mary T. (nee Russell) O'Neill. Beloved husband of Catherine H. (nee Hibben) O'Neill; loving father of Brian J. O'Neill and step-father of Patrick M. Bradley and Michelle B. (Andrew) Hakala; cherished grandfather of Payton L. Hakala; dear brother of the late James (the late Marilyn) O'Neill and Henry "Hank" (Mary) O'Neill; fond uncle of Peggy (Larry) Jankowski, Mary (Rick) Schroeter, Kathy (William) Guinea, Sheila (Chris) Koval, Eileen (Grant) Gillstrom, Kathy (Damon) Frazier, James (Sue) O'Neill, the late Daniel (Jodi) O'Neill, Patrick (Amy) O'Neill and Michael (Char) O'Neill; numerous cousins and friends also survive. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451 on Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 2:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral service, Monday, April 10, 2017 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30am and then to St. Jude Catholic Church, 241 West 2nd Avenue, New Lenox, IL 60451 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL.
