Josephine Janicek, age 93 passed away peacefully, Thursday, May 1, 2014, while surrounded by her family. Preceded in death by her loving husband George Janicek. Recently from Orland Park, previously from Oak Forest, Frankfort and originally from Chicago. Survived by her sons, Richard (Gayla) Janicek, James Janicek and deceased daughter Christine Hacko. Brother Henry Slemp. Deceased brothers; Walter, Joseph, Tony and Leonard. Deceased sisters; Eleanor Lashley, Bernice Janiszewski and Jean Dettman. Loving Grandmother to Kathryn (Edward) Cuervo, Julie Janicek, Michael (Stephanie) Janicek, Daniel Janicek and Steven (Laura) Hacko. Busia to eight Great Grandchildren, her special nieces and friends who loved her and visted her at her beloved condo. Also her dear caretaker Marge, and recently Maria. Member of the Daughters of Isabella, St. Bruno's Mother's Club and years of service for St. Bruno's church in Chicago. Josephine will stay in the hearts of all her family and friends who loved her. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451 on Sunday, May 4th, 2014 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral service, Monday, May 5th, 2014 with prayers at the funeral home at 11:30 AM and then to St. Jude Church, 241 W. 2nd Ave., New Lenox, IL 60451for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon.
