L. Maxine Smith nee Flannery
Age 88, of Lockport, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Stewart Roy Smith; loving mother of Sally (Richard) Smith, St. Germain, WI; Mark (Marcia) Smith, Tempe, AZ; Brian (Lori) Smith, Lockport, IL; and Adam (Jean) Smith, Elwood, IL; cherished grandmother of Julie (Trent) Metzger, Erik (Debbie) Smith; Brandi (Rob) Nehs, Stewart Smith, Sean Smith; Sara (Tyler) Wood, Amy Smith, Karen Smith, Mary Smith; Scott Smith, Stephen Smith, Thomas Smith, Rene Smith, Emily Smith and Leo Smith; and great-grandmother of Lincoln and Reagan Metzger, and Tanner and Carter Nehs; she is survived by her sister Ann Mattea; also survived by many dear friends. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Virginia Flannery nee Barnet, brother Beecher Flannery, and two sisters Christine Dick and Geneva Kapellas. She was a member of 1st United Methodist Church of Lockport, and volunteered at Silver Cross Hospital for over 20 years. The family would like to extend a very special thank-you to all of Maxine's caregivers at the Inn at Willow Falls and Joliet Area Community Hospice for their excellent and dedicated care. Family will receive friends at Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton Street, Lockport, IL 60441 on Wednesday, November 26th, 2014 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral service at 12:00 Noon. Interment Lockport City Cemetery, Lockport, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to the 1st United Methodist Church, 1000 S.
