LaVerne H. Johnson (Ulmenstine)

Age 100, a resident of Frankfort formerly of Worth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at her home in Frankfort with her family by her side.

LaVerne is survived by her loving family, children Ronald (Kathy) Johnson and Sharon Johnson; grandchildren Edward (Lisa) Johnson, Mark Johnson, Ann Johnson, Matthew Johnson and Robert (Megan) Johnson; great grandchildren Angela (Brad) Doszak, Amanda Johnson, Lily Liburdi, Filippo Liburdi, Ruthie Johnson and Henry Johnson; great great grandmother of Ethan Strong, Johonna Doszak and Evelyn Doszak; aunt of many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband Stewart Johnson; her parents, George and Veronica (Carney) Ulmenstine; siblings Betty Bauer, George (Elsie Mae) Ulmenstine and Larry (Patsy) Ulmenstine.

LaVerne was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Mokena, St. Mary Young at Heart Club and the Council of Catholic Women

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Sunday, September19, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service, Monday, September 20, 2021 prayer service in the funeral home chapel at 9:15 AM leaving for St. Mary Catholic Church, Mokena for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full to Chapel Hill Garden South Cemetery, Oak Lawn. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Lightways Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
