Leo Thomas Hogan of Frankfort, IL, formerly of Riverdale and Chicago IL, Born August 14, 1925, proud Irishman, passed away March 14, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 68 wonderful years, Irene (Busch), 5 sons Robert, Joseph (Barbara), Michael (Gretchen), William (Barbara), Matthew (Kathy) and his daughter-in-law Jill Krohn (Robert); his 14 grand children Matthew (Tricia), Kelly Stewart (Jeffery), Michael (Andrea), Daniel, Leo Thomas III (Bernadette), Maureen, David Krohn (Elisha), Marian, Kaitlyn, Franklin, Collin, Elise, Laurel, and Mitchell; his 12 great-grandchildren Abraham, Olivia, Samuel, Benjamin, Daniel J., Elizabeth, Anna, Jourdon, Erica, Tobi, Lily and Abby; His sister Helen Stanton (Thomas), and his sister-in-law Donna Hogan and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Leo Thomas II, his sisters Shirley (Glenn) Hasberger, Phillis (John) Karas and brother Daniel. Leo grew up in the Burnside neighborhood of Chicago where he attended St. Joachim and Fenger High School. He was honorably discharged from the Navy after serving during World War II. He retired as a Postal Inspector after 30 years of service. Leo was a Eucharistic Minister, choir member and long time parishioner of St. Mary Parish in Chicago then Riverdale IL. In later years, he continued his worship at St. Anthony's Parish in Frankfort, IL. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Joliet Area Community Hospice. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 3-8PM. Funeral services on Friday, March 17, 2017 prayers at 9:30AM leaving for St. Anthony Church for a 10:00AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood.
