Lois D. Gasperowich

February 22, 1920 — September 5, 2024

Lois Gasperowich was born on February 22, 1920. She passed away peacefully at Alexian Brothers Hospice in Elk Grove Village on Thursday, September 5, 2024.

Survivors include her daughter Carol (Joseph) Majerczak; granddaughters Laurie Rickert, Lisa(David) Neigebauer; great grandchildren Timothy and Amy; nephews Jim(Rosy) Drechsel, Ron(Kathy)Drechsel and their children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her first husband Robert Payne who was killed in France during WW II; her second husband Bruno Gasperowich who passed away in the Veteran’s home in Manteno, Illinois in 2008; and her brother Glenn Drechsel. 

Lois was known for being an avid card player. She was an excellent bridge player which she took very seriously and also enjoyed playing in marathons. She was also known for her quick wit which always remained.

Lois will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL in a private ceremony.
