Margaret J. Shook

Margaret J. Shook, age 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2024 at Alden Estates of Shorewood.

Margaret is survived by her beloved son, Jason (Patty) Shook; granddaughters, Ashley, Katie, and Jenny Shook; and her sister Sarah Childs.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Shook; her parents, Clifford and Katherine Adair; her brother Fred Adair; and her sister Priscilla Adair Gullick.

Margaret was a public-school teacher in New Lenox for 29 years and taught both art classes and history. She had a passion for reading, and had a true knack for baking all sorts of deserts. In her free time, Margaret liked to work on making quilts and blankets as well as work outside on her landscaping. She loved to visit her favorite vacation spot, Siesta Key in Florida.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 26th, 2024 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 177 Luther Lane, in Frankfort, with a visitation from 10am until the time of service at 11am. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society.
