Marianne Louise Bodtke, 96, of Chicago Heights, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024. She is survived by her daughter, Jean Marie (Alan) Holcomb, Grandchildren: Stephen Alan (Samantha) Holcomb, and Amy Marie (Andrew) Urbanski. Great-grandchildren: Austin, Landon, Alexandra “Lexi”, Nico Holcomb, Audrey Rose Urbanski and foster granddaughter Myah. Sister, Carolyn (late John Dykstra) and (late Boyd) Wagenaar. Marianne was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Bodtke, in 1984, brother, Frederick (late Janet) Ultsch, and her sister, Marcella Andretich. Born to the late Frederick and Stella Ultsch in Blue Island. Marianne was baptized, educated, confirmed and married at Salem Lutheran Church in Blue Island. She met her husband Bob as a student at Thornton Community College now South Suburban College where she graduated with an associates degree. Marrianne and Bob were married on Dec. 11, 1948. She worked and retired as a secretary at Whitting Corp. in Harvey, IL. A member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Chicago Heights, IL, she was a member of the Altar Guild, Ladies Aid, Sewing Circle, and Bible Study. A Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6850 W 159th St., Tinley Park on Wed., May 1, 2024 from 10:00 until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment following at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Flossmoor. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran School in Tinley Park or to the Lutheran Church Charities Comfort Dog Ministry.
