Marianne Helen Smyth, nee Glaser
Beloved wife of the late Eugene; loving mother of Susan (late Richard Einhorn, late Lawrence Gempka), Pamela (Tom) Sekulski, Cathleen (Bernard) McMahon, the late Diane, Eugene (Lily) Smyth and Laura (Alan) Bakotic. Much loved grandmother “Mimi” of Richard (Misty) Einhorn, Matthew (Nicole) Einhorn, Lisa (Ryan) Behounek, Tommy (Misty) Sekulski, Brian (Natasha) McMahon, Erin (Brandon) Theobald, Michael McMahon, Rebecca, Melanie, Abigail Marianne, and Anna Bakotic. Loving great-grandmother of Cameron and Avery Einhorn, Allison and Holly Behounek, Morgan and Andrew Sekulski, Mallory and Trey Theobald. Marianne was the daughter of the late Mathias and Helen Glaser and dear friend and cousin to the late Margie Ackermann. She was the sister-in-law of the late Howard (Jean) Smyth, Edward (Florence) Smyth and Joseph (Lucille) Smyth. Marianne and Gene were also aunt and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Marianne was devoted to her family and one of her greatest joys in life was listening to her “piano man”. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Camp Quality, which provides a summer camping experience and a year-round support program for children with cancer. Visitation will be at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd., New Lenox on Sunday, February 24, 2019 from 2pm-7pm. The funeral service will be on Monday, February 25, 2019 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 am to St. Jude Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am.
