Marilyn L. Arends-Twait (nee Yackley)
87, a lifelong resident of Joliet, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021 at her home. Marilyn was born in Joliet to the late Albert and Lucille (nee Feeney) Yackley. Beloved wife of Bernie Twait and the late Vincent P. Arends; loving mother of Albert (Lynne) Arends and Carolyn (Jimmie) Plunkett; cherished grandmother of James Plunkett and Jacob Plunkett; proud great-grandmother of Taylor Plunkett; dear sister of the late Lorraine Boucher; loved aunt of several nieces and nephews; also survived by Brian (Tammy) Twait and family and Scott (Joyce) Twait and family. Marilyn was a secretary at Caterpillar Manufacturing and then at St. Joseph Hospital, Joliet. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox, St. Jude Council of Catholic Women, CCW League, New Lenox VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and Women of the Moose, Joliet. Marilyn loved gardening and flowers. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, New Lenox on Monday, May 10, 2021 from 4pm – 8pm. Funeral Services Tuesday, May 11, 2021 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30am to St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Minooka. Social Distancing and Masks are MANDATORY for ALL in attendance.
