MARIO S. RICCHIO

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished Mario Ricchio of New lenox on Thursday, November 16, 2023.

Mario is survived by his loving family, children, Lisa Ricchio, Anna Ricchio, Pasquale (Sarah) Ricchio, siblings, Francisco (Maria) Ricchio, Pietro (Amalia) Ricchio, proud Nonno of ten (10) grandchildren, Louie, Oscar, Valentina, Anthony, James, Jewel, Silvana, Winston, Arlo, and Luciano.

Mario was preceded in death by his parents, Pasquale & Luigina Ricchio (Salituro), daughter, Luigina Ricchio and former wife, Silvana Ricchio (Speranza).

Mario met his wife, Silvana Ricchio (Speranza) in Calabria, Italy. Together, they migrated to the United States and raised their family in the south suburbs of Chicago.

Mario was hard-working and dedicated to work and family. He retired after working decades at a steel and tubing manufacturing plant in Chicago. Despite his many responsibilities, he had a passion for sports cars and horse racing and always enjoyed regaling friends and family with tales about growing up in southern Italy.

We find comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren and his memory will be cherish forever.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Monday, November 20th, 2023 from 8:30 AM until time of prayers at 11:30 AM and then to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 19515 115th Avenue, Mokena, IL 60448 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM. Interment, Good Shepherd Cemetery, Orland Park. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association would be greatly appreciated.
