MARISSA L. ALVARADO

Age 19 of Rockford, formerly of New Lenox, passed away on Saturday, April 7th, 2018 at her home in Rockford.

Marissa is survived by her loving family, parents, Linda Alvarado (Edwards), Abel (Tiwana) Alvarado, grandmother, Laura Dawn Edwards (Marco), siblings, Nicholas (fiancée Mariah Castillo) Alvarado, Christina Alvarado, Benjamin Alvarado, aunts, Cindy (Barry) Underwood, Ruth (Dennis) Shutty and several other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Marissa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Kenneth Edwards, Luis Alvarado and Maria Gutierrez (Arias).

Marissa attended St. John's preschool in Mokena and kindergarten thru her senior year in the New Lenox school system; graduating from Lincoln-Way Central High School in the Class of 2017. She enjoyed dancing, horseback riding and loved to take care of animals. Marissa helped and mentored many people thru the disease of addiction.

Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Friday, April 13th, 2018 from 3:00 PM until time of the funeral service at 7:00 PM. Interment, Saturday, April 14th, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Riverview Cemetery, Marseilles. In lieu of flowers, donations to Narcotics Anonymous would be appreciated.
