Mary Ann was born on March 23, 1930, to Frank and Anna Lucas in Chicago, IL. She met the love of her life, William (Bill) Cullen, they were married at Immaculate Conception Church on January 6, 1951. Mary Ann and Bill settled down in the Beverly neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago, where they raised five children: Mary Louise, Bill, Margaret, Kathleen, and Jimmy. She loved vacationing in Florida with her family in and loved ones at her place in Ormond Beach. After the passing of her husband in 1984, she embraced her role as the matriarch of her growing extended family. She performed admirably in that role until her passing.
Those who knew Mary Ann would characterize her as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She possessed a sharp wit and was beautiful both inside and out, leaving a positive, lasting impression on everyone she met. At heart, Mary Ann was an artist she enjoyed spending her free time with her many hobbies, including crocheting , sewing, and ceramics. She was known to make the holidays extra special by creating homemade costumes for her children and grandchildren and of course her ribboned towels for EVERY holiday.
Mary Ann will be greatly missed by her family and loved ones. Her passing has left a void for all who had the opportunity to know her. The world is in a better place for having known Mary Ann.
