Mary M. Banik (nee Isaacs)

Age 82, of Frankfort, Il passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, January 15th, 2025, surrounded by her family at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox, Il. 

Mary was born in Pittsburgh Pa, to the late Alexander E. Isaacs and Mary Isaacs (nee John’s). Beloved wife of the late Paul J. Banik. Mary and Paul met in Pittsburgh, married, moved to the Chicago area where they enjoyed over 60 years of marriage and family life. 

Mary is survived by her loving daughters Lisa (Alan) Milla and Yvonne (Bob Lavelle) Banik, and cherished granddaughter Allisa Milla. 

Mary was a dear sister to the late Theresa Isaacs, the late Daniel (late Lois) Isaacs, the late Paul (Delores) Isaacs, the late Anna Marie (James) Compomizzi, and the late Joseph (late Zelda) Isaacs, loving Aunt, Cousin and Friend to many. 

Mary worked the majority of her career at the New Hope Center in Calumet City, a non-profit service agency, providing care and guidance to persons with developmental disabilities, until she retired to become the best grammie ever. 

Mary was a longtime member of St. Victor’s Catholic Church in Calumet City, Il. 

Mary will be remembered by all as a kind woman with a generous heart and spirit, who always had a smile on her face.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Mary's favorite charity) would be appreciated. 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mokena, Il.
