Mary J. Farrell

Mary J. Farrell (nee Henry), age 87, of New Lenox formerly of Dolton, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Farrell and is survived by her children; Peggy (Soddy-Daisy, TN), Patricia (Soddy-Daisy, TN) and Joseph (Jean- her favorite daughter-in-law), of New Lenox; grandmother to Brian, Joseph, Erin, Michael and Adam; great-grandmother to Jayden Farrell and Sean Nowak; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Thomas and John and her sister Virginia. She was fondly known as SIS by those who loved her and even Mrs. Sis by some. She was a voracious reader who enjoyed word puzzles and the occasional martini. She was a proud grandmother and a very proud great grandmother; she was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox and an auxiliary member of VFW. Special heartfelt thanks to the staff at VITAS, who provided tender care and services at the end of her journey. A memorial service will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox, IL 60451 on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 12noon with a memorial visitation from 11:-00am -12:00 noon.
