Mason C. Santiago

October 18, 2004 — September 15, 2024

New Lenox, IL

Mason Christopher Santiago

Age 19 of New Lenox, IL passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 15, 2024, as the result of an automobile accident. Mason was born in Joliet, IL to Ski and Shannon (nee Riemer) Santiago. Loving brother of Cohle Santiago and Sophia Marie Santiago; cherished grandson of Michael Riemer and Sylvia and John Greenan, and Richard and Susan Santiago; dear great grandson of Betty J. and the late Donald C. Riemer; loved nephew, cousin, and friend of many. Mason was an outstanding, and recognized football player, at Providence Catholic High School. He then took his talents to Saint Xavier University, Chicago, IL to play football. Mason was an extremely focused and intense individual. He was a fierce competitor and wanted to be the best at his position. Whatever he set his mind to doing, he attacked it with 110 percent effort, never taking shortcuts, and always in high gear. After graduation from Providence Catholic, Mason took time to go back and mentor the players on the football team, whenever he had the opportunity to do so. Mason will be missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers memorials in Mason’s name to Providence Catholic Football or Saint Xavier Football in Mason’s name would be appreciated. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd. on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Interment will be private.
