Michael A. Stakenas, age 54 of Manhattan, formerly of New Lenox and Marquette Park in Chicago, passed away, Thursday, May 8, 2014, Loving husband of Kathy (nee Burdelik) Stakenas; beloved father of Derek and Sara Stakenas; dearest son of Joan (nee Tammer) and the late Anthony Stakenas; cherished brother of Laura (Reid) Wilson, Linda, Andrew (Kelly) and the late John and Donna Stakenas. He is also survived by several aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and walking buddy Padfoot. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451 on Monday, May 12, 2014 from 3-9 PM. Funeral service, Tuesday, May 13, 2014 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 AM and then to St. Jude Church, 241 W. 2nd Ave., New Lenox, IL 60451 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment, Good Shepherd Cemetery, Orland Park, IL.
