Age 81, resident Joliet, IL. passed away on February 29, 2012. Beloved husband of Therese nee Garavaglia; devoted father of: Stephen (Janet) Sefcik, Michael (Judy) Sefcik, and David (Renee) Sefcik, cherished grandfather of: Michael, Aimee, Marc, Scott, Eric, Casey, Kylie, and Matthew and great-grandfather of: Halee, Connor, Justice, Melina, and Vanessa. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Joseph, Jerome, George, Stephen, John, Theresa, Frances, and Anna. Al was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Church in Joliet, involved with the Holy Name Society, and Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. Family will receive friends at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox, IL 60451 on Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 2-6 PM. Funeral Service Monday, March 5, 2012, with prayers at 10:15 AM to St. Mary Magdalene Church, Joliet, IL. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society appreciated.
