Bruce Edmund Ebert
Bruce Edmund Ebert, 68, of Mokena, died peacefully with his family around him at Northwestern Memorial Hospital on February 9, 2015 after complications from surgery. He graduated from Lincoln-Way High School in 1964 and served the United States Army from 1966-69. In 1972, he married Diane Tuttle and they began their life together in Mokena. In 1978, Bruce and Diane started, Ebert Electric, the business they still own and operate today. Bruce has served in a variety of public positions, including President of Mokena School Board, President of Lincoln-Way Band Boosters, President of the St. John's Church Council, and currently a Frankfort Township Trustee. He also was an active member of the Mokena Lions Club and the Historical Society. Bruce enjoyed his grandchildren's sporting and school events, tending to his yard, dancing with his wife, and driving his Oliver tractor. Bruce is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diane; his children, LeeAnn (Bret) Taylor of McHenry and Bryant (Christie) of Steger; his grandchildren Jessica and Brian Taylor, Gavin and Breanna Ebert; his siblings Dale (Lynn Laas) and Dianne (Robert) Schultz; in-laws Robert (Valerie) Horras, Dorothy Tuttle, Sheree (Richard) Kinder and Neil (Rose) Tuttle; numerous family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Velma (Barten) Ebert his parents-in-law, Will T.and Shirley (Lorenz) Tuttle, and his brother-in-law Will R. Tuttle. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423. A celebration of Bruce's life will be held at 10 a.m. at Kurtz Memorial Chapel on Saturday, February 14, 2015 with a visitation one hour prior. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Frankfort.
