Joseph C. Nikiel
Age 82, of Romeoville, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Jacqueline (Rodeghero); loving father of Joette Barajas and Mary Bessler; cherished papa of Erica Huebner, Nicole Langendorf, Steven, Matthew, and Stephanie Bessler; and great-papa of Harper Langendorf; dear brother of Ann Nikiel and Alois Nikiel; also survived by his dear friend Donna Lauterbach and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Rudolph and Mary Nikiel (Gura), and siblings Mary Nagelvich, Elsie Louch, Olga Podolski, Mildred Bruzek, Anthony Ulmanek, Sylvester Nikiel, John Ulmanek, and Frank Ulmanek. Joseph was an active member of the Pure Rod & Gun Club, Lockport Moose Lodge, and St. Mary Nativity Church. He was a United States Army Veteran, and enjoyed camping. Family will receive friends at Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton Street, Lockport, on Monday, September 25, 2017 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral, Tuesday, September 26, 2017 with chapel prayers at 9:15 AM to St. Mary Nativity Church, 702 North Broadway St., Joliet, IL 60435 for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial.
