Age 69, resident of New Lenox, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. Beloved husband of Claudia (nee Whitmarsh); loving father of Denise (Raymond) Esposito, Adam (Victoria) Erickson, and Jeffery (Bobbie) Whitmarsh; cherished grandfather of Cody, Jacob, Courtney, Hunter, Emily, Raymond, Aurora, and Tony; also survived by numerous nieces & nephews; fond brother of Karl (Margaret) Erickson. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Lois Erickson (nee Goin). Michael retired from Caterpillar after 30 years of dedicated service as a Tool and Die Maker. He was a member of IAM Local 851, and enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and spending time with family. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd., New Lenox, IL 60451 on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 2-6 PM. Funeral service Monday, February 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment private.
