Age 63, of New Lenox, IL. passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016. Beloved husband of Lori nee Seffren; loving father of Daniel (Waew) Mestas, Rachael (Tate) Dunkel, and Elliot Mestas; cherished grandfather of Aili, Juniper, and Kaya. Robert was a Marine Veteran, and Illinois Division Commander of Sons of Confederate Veterans. He was a Civil War Historian, and created an audio-cd titled, "Defending the Heritage, Facts You Didn't Learn in School about the Civil War." The family will receive friends at Family Harvest Church, 18500 92nd Ave, Tinley Park, IL 60487 on Thursday, June 30th, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The family will meet at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd., Elwood, IL 60421 on Friday, July 1st., 2016 at 9:30 AM for a 10:00 AM Committal service with full Military Honors.
