Age 88, a resident of Tinley Park, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017. Loving uncle of Charles (Carrie) Lynch, Patricia (Jack) O'Connor, William Lynch, and Kaylen Schultz; also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; dear brother-in-law of retired Chicago Police Officer Patrick Lynch. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Kathleen (Leddin) Kearney; and brother, retired Chicago Police Officer William (late Irene) Kearney, and sister Kathleen (Kearney) Lynch. Sam was a Korean War Air Force Veteran, and retired Chicago Police Officer. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 177 in Chicago Ridge, member of the American Legion Post 1 in Paris, France, and member of Po Piedmont Social Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 10:00 AM.
